PADRES 1926

In 1926 a group of 4 priests from Montreal embarked a ship headed towards London, England to begin their trip to the Holy Land. Unlike many other such trips, these fathers photographed every step of their voyage, creating a photo documentary of their travels in vivid detail.

Kept in storage for decades, this 2 volume documentary contains 639 photos dry mounted in the original binding. This collection now privately owned, documents the sea and land voyage of the fathers through many historical sites as they were at the time, many of which have now been destroyed by war.

Recognizing the beauty and historical value of this collection, it is my desire to make the collection viewable to the public. Now through the means of the Internet, you can visit this collection without having to leave your seats.

At present, the collection has been scanned by page, in order to present the collection as it had been composed, along with the original notes. It is our hope to be able to present the individual photos in the near future. This will occur as budget and time permit.
